Employee stay interview template
Wondering what your employees love about your organization — or what they wish they had? Insert: stay interviews. Use this template to guide conversations towards these key details and what you can do to increase engagement and retention.
When should you conduct stay interviews?
Ideally, managers should have these one-on-one conversations with their direct reports every three to six months, so you have an up-to-date definition of a great place to work.
We also recommend conducting them during specific organizational or team events, such as:
- A period of high turnover
- A period of high talent demand
- Big changes in business direction
- Low employee engagement scores
- A recent employee's departure
These are key moments when you want to touch base with your people individually. Find out what’s keeping them committed, so you can continue doing what’s working.
